Easy Morning Stretches to Wake Up Your Body

Starting your day with a few simple stretches can help improve flexibility, reduce stiffness, and boost your energy levels. Whether you wake up feeling tight or just want to set a positive tone for the day, these gentle movements will help ease you into your morning.
1. Standing Side Stretch
Stand with feet hip-width apart and reach both arms overhead.
Clasp your hands together and gently lean to one side.
Hold for 15-30 seconds, then switch sides.
2. Cat-Cow Stretch
Start on all fours with hands under shoulders and knees under hips.
Inhale, arch your back, lift your head, and drop your belly (Cow Pose).
Exhale, round your spine, tuck your chin, and pull your belly in (Cat Pose).
Repeat for 30-60 seconds.
3. Forward Fold
Stand with feet hip-width apart and slowly hinge at the hips, folding forward.
Let your head and arms hang, keeping a slight bend in your knees if needed.
Hold for 30 seconds, taking deep breaths.
4. Seated Spinal Twist
Sit with legs extended, then cross your right foot over your left leg.
Place your right hand behind you and your left elbow on your right knee.
Twist gently to the right, holding for 30 seconds.
Switch sides and repeat.
5. Child’s Pose
Kneel on the floor, bring your big toes together, and sit back on your heels.
Extend your arms forward and lower your forehead to the floor.
Breathe deeply and hold for 30-60 seconds.
6. Downward Dog
Start on all fours, then lift your hips toward the ceiling, straightening your legs.
Press your heels toward the ground and keep your hands firmly on the mat.
Hold for 30 seconds, breathing deeply.
